In Excel 2003: • Click on the Tools drop-down menu; • Click on Protection and from the sub-menu, select Un protect Sheet. Functions Used in the Excel Household Budget Template The Excel functions and operators used in the above Household Budget spreadsheet are: The subtraction operator is used to calculate the difference between the actual amount and the budgeted amount, for each entry in the spreadsheet. Used to keep the 'Difference' column of the budget spreadsheet tidy. If no values are present in the corresponding cell of the 'Actual Amount' column, the entry in the 'Difference' column remains blank. Otherwise, the difference between the budget amount and the actual amount is calculated and displayed. ![]()
